Rubio Files Legislation For NCAA To Create A Uniform Standard

Legislation just filed by Senator Marco Rubio sets up a program that lets college athletes make some money off their own name, image, or likeness.

Florida and California have passed laws that let college athletes make money from their name, image, and likeness, but Senator Marco Rubio says that will just cause confusion, a national standard is needed.

Rubio's bill gives the NCAA a year to come up with a plan or the Federal Trade Commission will.

The NCAA says it has plans to loosen its rules and to vote on it at its annual convention this coming January.
