Two South Floridians Appointed To Florida Supreme Court

Two South Floridians are appointed to the state supreme court. Governor Ron DeSantis announcing Miami attorney John Couriel, and Renatha Francis, a Palm Beach County circuit judge, have been picked to fill seats left open when former justices Barbara Lagoa and Robert Luck were appointed last year to the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Francis. who was born in Jamaica, becomes the first Caribbean American to sit on the bench. DeSantis has made five appointments to the Florida Supreme Court -four have come from South Florida.
