Broward Opens Beaches a Week Ahead of MDC

Broward County is working with hoteliers and tourism industry leaders to send a universal message to the nation and world.

Broward getting almost a week early jump start ahead of Miami-Dade in opening beaches and hotels this morning.

But Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis feels this is the time to start recharge the economy, and Broward Mayor Dale Holness thinks this is just the beginning.

That is as long as people comply with social distancing guidelines.

Beach-goers will not be able to sunbath or gather in groups.

Police promise to enforce the rules with warnings and citations.

The hope is they will not have to make arrests.

Miami-Dade plans to reopen hotels and beaches on Monday next week.
