LINKS: Hundreds Of Broward Jobs Available At Today's Virtual Job Fair

A day after the Labor Department reported more than 430,000 Floridians made first-time unemployment claims last week, hundreds of jobs are up for grabs today in Broward County.

Realizing South Florida - especially our hospitality, restaurant and entertainment industries - has been hit hard by the coronavirus crisis, CareerSource Broward is hosting bi-weekly virtual job fairs. The first is today, and they'll last through June.

Senior Communication Manager Javon Anthony Lloyd says, "What we're trying to do at CareerSource Broward is to utilize any way possible to connect those job seekers with those employers who are hiring."

After registering for the job fair here, job seekers will be able to visit virtual employer booths, apply for open positions and chat with HR recruiters and company representatives.

Among those hiring are U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Census Bureau, Walmart and Walgreens.

The jobs are all based in Broward, but anyone from South Florida can register to attend.

Today's event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
