Job Fair for 2020 Census in Tampa Tuesday

TAMPA -- Now that the controversy over the citizenship question is settled, the U.S. Census Bureau is ramping up to conduct the census in April of next year.

It's holding a job fair Tuesday at the office of the Corporation to Develop Communities of Tampa, in the 1900 block of East Hillsborough Avenue, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Jobs pay from $13.50 to $24 an hour, and they range from census takers to office workers to supervisors. Some jobs require flexible hours.

David Jones with the Corporation to Develop Communities of Tampa says would-be census workers should bring ID, social security information and a resume. They should also be prepared for a background check. Men born after 1959 should have registered with Selective Service or have an exemption.
