She continued to break new ground as the first African American woman to hold the esteemed post of Chief Engineer for Class 1 Railroads in the country.
In February 2023, Coree made history once more as the first woman to lead Broward County Transit. Under her leadership, she continues to champion diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring that opportunities are accessible to all.
With experience spanning transportation, energy, engineering services, and health care, Coree has held positions in both the private and public sectors. She has worked for three Fortune 500 companies and two of the top ten transit agencies in the United States. Currently, she leads Broward County Transit, the second-largest transit agency in Florida, serving over two million residents.
Coree's leadership is characterized by her commitment to advancing the PREMO plan, which aims to provide 200 miles of new premium transit service in Broward County. She leads with kindness and assertiveness, always putting customers and employees at the center of every decision.
