- A second Palm Beach County resident has been added to the FBI’s Most Wanted Fraudsters list with a $150,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Khalid Ahmen Satary. He joins Palm Beach County resident Elaine Angene Escoe as most wanted fraudsters operating from this area. Satary is said to have conspired in a $547 million Medicare fraud scheme related to unneeded genetic testing. He was known to have operated numerous testing laboratories between 2016 and 2019. Satary was known to have lived in Delray Beach.
- The Palm Beach County Commission has issued a moratorium on future data center projects until the commission has studied and updated its guidelines for data centers. As an existing proposal, the proposed Project Tango in western Palm Beach County is grandfathered in.
- Martin County Fire Rescue began battling a brushfire reported to be over 75-acres in Indiantown near the Lakeside Ranch Stormwater Treatment area late Tuesday. Officials said no structures are threatened by the fire but that drivers along County Road 15B and State Road 710 could encounter smoky conditions.
- The Florida Department of Health has issued a no-swim and no-irrigation advisory for Rivera Beach residents along the C17 Canal following a chemical spill along Gardens Road.
- Boynton Beaches’ city council voted to permanently prevent development of what’s known as Nickels Forest, a 15-acre tract of land owned by the city. Local conservatists have voiced their concerns about potential development on or near the land which is home to several native and protected species. Residents are still voicing concerns about a planned 72-town home development adjacent to the property.
- It'll be sunny throughout the day with the hottest temperatures of the year. Today’s high will be in the low to mid 90’s – warmer than usual for this date. The National Hurricane Center’s Tropical Weather Outlook remains clear without any tropical cyclone activity expected over the next seven days. Persistent Saharan dust from the coast of Africa extends over most of the southern and mid-Atlantic with dust extending over the Caribbean, Cuba, and into the Gulf of America.
- The price of gas fell by a penny per gallon on Tuesday. The average price for regular unleaded fuel is currently $3.72 per gallon statewide – 82 cents per gallon lower than peak May prices. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.89 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.71, it’s $3.73 in St. Lucie, and in Indian River County the average is $3.70 per gallon.
