This Has Always Been About Preventing World War III – Top 3 Takeaways – April 8th, 2026
Takeaway #1: What this is really about
I’ve been doing this for 28 years. From Clinton’s impeachment, to Florida 2000, to 9/11, the financial crisis, COVID – you name it I’ve covered every major story along the way. And the thing is...not only is every historically significant story unique, one lesson I’ve learned is to be surprised – because no historically significant story will ever play out exactly the way that you might think. For example, during Bill Clinton’s impeachment was your expectation that Bill Clinton would have been able to lie directly about having an affair with a staffer in the Oval Office, no less, be impeached for it, but come out of the other end more popular than before? In Florida’s 2000 election, was it your expectation on Election Night that we’d spend the next 34 days debating dimpled, pregnant, and hanging chads with the world focused on Palm Beach County’s incompetencies that would only eventually be settled with a 5-4 landmark Supreme Court decision? In my intro to election coverage that night I infamously said that I’d “stay with you on air until we had a winner declared” (I broadcasted from 7 PM until 3 AM, and then picked it up at 5 AM again). On 9/11 none of us knew what to expect next. I also remember a Gallup poll that came out within the first week in which 90% of Americans expected another 9/11 style terror attack to be attempted within the United States within the next year. During the onset of the housing crisis, did you anticipate that it would trigger a financial crisis that would lead to the greatest economic decline in this country since the Great Depression? At the onset of the pandemic, did you actually think you’d someday see a six-masked hermit praying to Anthony Fauci (you get the idea anyway)? So, here’s the thing... when President Trump posted this on Truth yesterday... A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran! The one thing I expected was to be surprised. And that’s because even President Trump, who was in greater control of the outcome than anyone, clearly expressed that he didn’t know how things would go (and surely spent the day studying contingencies). But the one thing that didn’t surprise me going into the day was what this really was and is all about...
Takeaway #2: Preventing World War III
I said it at the beginning of this thing. I’ve been laying out the landscape for this day for years. Yes, the Iran war is and has been about preventing Iran’s ability to prosecute a nuclear war, however it was never just about Iran’s nuclear ambitions. It’s just the jumping off point for how we got here and the bigger picture that’s been in play since President Trump made Maduro go away. Germany’s population was only 3% of the world’s population at the onset of the second world war. Just as Hitler’s ambitions kicked off World War II – it’s alliances with Italy and Japan are what led to the peak of Axis power in 1942 when 30% of the world’s population found itself under Axis control. A directly impacted population of people that was literally ten times bigger than where the war began. As we take account of what’s in play today, and the new state-of-play – here's a quick refresh as to what brought us to this point. As I’ve discussed for many years, a new group of Axis powers has emerged in the world. China isn't just China, China is Russia, China’s Iran, China is North Korea (with Little Rocket Man), China has been Venezuela and Cuba, Nicaragua too. It’s an Axis network that already controls 21% of the world’s population – with China, the most populous country in the world, representing a population that’s greater than five times larger than that of Germany as a percentage of the world’s population preceding the threat of World War III. The best way to defeat China in war is to never allow one to start. As I’ve indicated previously... President Trump has been highly intentional in working to combat the potential for World War III since the onset of his second presidency. His first foreign mission was to the Middle east where he met with Quatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE – seeking to realign those countries with U.S. and Israeli interests as opposed to China’s Axis interests. Next, he attempted to win over Putin and end the Ukrainian war – which didn’t happen, but it did set the stage for what came next. Rather than working from top to bottom to undo the Axis powers, Trump decided to control what he could control by
Takeaway #3: Working from the bottom up
Venezuela is home to the world’s largest oil reserves and 80% of Venezuela's oil supply was sent to China (with much of the rest to Cuba) when Maduro was still in power. When Maduro was made by President Trump to go missing, the oil stopped shipping to China and Cuba (instead it’s coming to the U.S.). That’s serving to collapse the legacy Castro regime in Cuba while also sending China scrambling for additional energy. That was especially true when Iran became the target Trump hit next. More oil goes to China from the Strait of Hormuz than anywhere else, and since the onset of the war with Iran (factoring in the loss of oil from Venezuela), 49% of China’s oil supply has run dry. It’s hard to imagine what life would be like in this country if we suddenly lost half of our energy, but effectively that’s what’s been in play as China has weighed what comes next. The bottom line is that China literally doesn’t have the energy to power their country and to also fight an extensive war. And with Russia predisposed with Ukraine, attacking Iran and winning that war to control the flow of oil out of the Strait on our terms is the key to keeping China on the sidelines and preventing World War III. That’s what this is all about. This is what it’s always been about. That’s how the story ends – preventing another World War – it's the getting there that’s highly surprising.
