The Montreal Canadiens (47-22-10) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (48-25-6) 2-1 on Thursday night in Montreal. The Lightning have now lost their last three straight games.
Cole Caufield scored his 50th goal of the season for the Canadiens at the 6:30 mark of the second period to give Montreal a 1-0 lead. That would remain the score until the 18:09 mark of the third period, when Darren Raddysh scored to tie the game. The Canadiens answered with a goal from Juraj Slafkovsky forty-seven seconds later to lift Montreal to the regulation win.
The Lightning now travel to Boston where they'll play the Bruins on Saturday afternoon. Puck drop between the Lightning and Bruins is scheduled for 12:30 PM on Saturday afternoon in Boston.
