Lightning Clinch Playoffs, Beat Bruins

The Tampa Bay Lightning (48-22-6) defeated the Boston Bruins (43-26-8) 3-1 on Saturday evening at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa. The win comes on the day the Lightning clinched a spot in the playoffs for the ninth consecutive year, which they did thanks to a Rangers 4-1 win over the Red Wings earlier in the day.

The Bruins led the game 1-0 going into the third period before the Lightning got on the board. Charle-Edouard D'Astous tied the game, before Darren Raddysh scored the game-winner that made it 2-1. For Raddysh, it was his 21st goal of the season, setting a new franchise record for goals by a defenseman in a single season.

Nikita Kuckeruov added an empty-netter that made it a 3-1 final score. Andrei Vasilevskiy went 21-of-22 in net to get the victory for the Lightning.

The Bolts are next in action on Monday night when they travel to Buffalo to play the Sabres. Puck drop Monday is scheduled for 7:00 PM between the Lightning and Sabres in Buffalo.
