MILTON has made landfall as a CAT 3 Hurricane. The powerful hurricane came ashore just moments ago on Siesta Key, just west of Sarasota, with winds up to 120 miles per hour.

“Landfall” is described by meteorologists as when at least half of the eye of the hurricane has come ashore.

Milton is forecast to be “one of the most destructive hurricanes on record.” More than 100 homes have already been reported destroyed and more than a half-million Floridians are already reported to be without power.

The storm is expected to continue to move across the state overnight, losing strength until it reaches the Atlanta Ocean tomorrow morning.
