In addition to Hurricane Francine expected to make landfall sometime later today, bringing life-threatening storm surge and dangerous winds to Louisiana and Mississippi later today into tomorrow.
The National Hurricane Center in Miami is a now also tracking Tropical Depression #7 west of the Cabo Verde Islands in the eastern Atlantic.
In its 11am advisory on TD7 , the NHC writes:
Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and the
depression could become a tropical storm tonight or on Thursday.
