Possible Tropical Storm 'Ernesto' Developing In Atlantic

(Miami, FL) -- Another tropical storm may be developing in the Atlantic. What's being called "Potential Tropical Cyclone Five" is currently southeast of Antigua and traveling west at 26 miles per hour. Officials say it could become a name storm 'Ernesto' by the end of today.

SUMMARY OF WATCHES AND WARNINGS IN EFFECT:

A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for...

* St. Kitts, Nevis, Montserrat, Antigua, Barbuda, and Anguilla

* Guadeloupe

* St. Martin and St. Barthelemy

* Sint Maarten

* British Virgin Islands

* U.S. Virgin Islands

* Puerto Rico

* Vieques

* Culebra

Meantime, much of the east coast is still recovering from Debby and now may have to start bracing for Ernesto.

Ten Florida counties including Manatee and Sarasota are continuing under a major federal disaster declaration due to Tropical Storm/Hurricane Debby. Federal disaster assistance can include grants for temporary lodging and home repairs and other disaster-caused expenses.
