(FLORIDA) -- Governor Ron DeSantis is giving state workers another day off in honor of Independance Day.

DeSantis mandated that all state offices be closed Monday July 3rd in addition to the July 4th holiday.

In a statement, DeSantis said, “I am proud to recognize our state employees for their service to Floridians.”

“Following an historic legislative session, where we enshrined medical freedom, secured school choice expansion, and provided the largest tax cut package in Florida history, I hope our hard-working state employees use this additional time off to enjoy Freedom Summer in Florida with their loved ones,” the statement continued.

During the 2023 Florida Freedom Summer Sales Tax Holiday, you may purchase admissions to music and sporting events, state parks and fitness facilities tax-free.

State offices will reopen July 5.
