Get To Know Your Children’s Teachers

While we’ve made headway in public education in Florida in recent years, the fact remains the battle over the minds of our kids remains. As I’m inclined to remind people, it’s nothing new, it’s been happening for decades, we’re just finally paying attention. The fact of the matter is this. Over 70% of Florida’s public-school teachers have chosen to enter this school year in a union. A union which donates over 99% of its money to Democrats, chooses to be the largest funder of Charlie Crist’s campaign and chooses to remain opposed to Florida’s Parental Rights in Education laws. Teachers who chose to remain in a union are choosing to be part of the problem and they’re using our tax dollars to do it. So, here’s my message for you this school year. Get to know your children’s teachers. Ask them if they’re in a union. If they are, inquire as to if they approve of over 99% of the funds allocated for advocacy going to Democrats. See if they think it's appropriate for their union to be the largest funder of Charlie Crist’s campaign. You don’t need to share your political preferences. This can be purely inquisitive. Doing so serves a few purposes. You’ll have an idea of what they’re about and the potential implications for your child. Some may think twice about their participation and others may at least think twice about attempting to color outside of the lines in the classroom, knowing that there are informed parents minding the store.
