Hollywood Police Officers Bid Formal Farewell To One Of Their Own

Several dignitaries on hand as Hollywood Police bid final farewell to one of their own shot and killed in the line of duty two weeks ago. With black bands through their badges, Hollywood Police officers and those from precincts across the state and country say goodbye to 28-year-old Officer Yandy Chirino. Police Chief Chris O'Brien says Chirino volunteered to fill in on a shift when he tried to wrestle a gun from suspected armed burglary suspect Jason Banegas. The 18-year-old is being held on several charges including felony murder. Chirino is the 1st Hollywood officer killed in the line of duty since 2008 and the 7th overall in the department. He leaves behind his parents, sister and girlfriend.
