The Broward School Board expected to vote on a motion today allowing interim Superintendent Vickie Cartwright to apply for the permanent position. School Board Member Anne Murray says Dr. Cartwright is doing an excellent job, but the board promised the public a nationwide search. The board voting down a motion last week to appoint Cartwright to the permanent position. If the board allows her to apply she says she will. Cartwright was hired to temporarily replace Robert Runcie who resigned after being charged with felony perjury.
