(Miami, FL) -- Hurricane Sam is expected to cause deadly surf conditions along the East Coast this weekend. It's still out at sea as a Category Four, making it the most powerful storm on the planet right now.  Sam is expected to continue its northwest turn and is not posing a threat to Florida.

Large waves will reach the Bahamas and Bermuda today. But by Saturday, the risk for rip currents will be high at beaches along the coast. People are urged to avoid swimming.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Victor is gaining strength. The system isn't expected to impact Florida or the US. Victor’s winds are 45 MPH and are expected to increase over the next day.
