Miami Commissioners voted to investigate Miami Police Chief Art Acevedo. On the job for about six months, Acevedo’s decision-making and judgment have been called into question by some inside MPD and within the City government. This included recently referencing the phrase “Cuban Mafia”, a term used by Fidel Castro, during a roll call vote. City manager Art Noriega stated he didn’t thoroughly vet Chief Acevedo prior to his being hired.
Lastly, Dog the Bounty Hunter, who recently joined the search for Brian Laundrie, stated a tip has led to a major development. The tip led Dog to the Fort De Soto Park, about 75 miles from North Port. According to Dog, a review of video surveillance revealed a match for Brian on September 6th. Gabby Petito wasn’t reported missing until September 11th. Dog stated the video also revealed three people entered the park but only two left. This would be consistent with the timing of a neighbor alleging a short camping trip took place with Brian and his parents prior to Gabby’s disappearance being known.
