Charges Dropped Against Plantation Anti-Masking Gym Owner

All charges have been dropped against a Plantation gym owner who was arrested three times this summer for allowing clients to go maskless.

This morning's court hearing for Michael Carnevale lasted less than three minutes.

Broward prosecutors ended their case against Carnevale and his wife, Jillian Gilbert, after the Governor's Executive Order offering clemency to everyone arrested for mask mandate and social distancing violations.

After walking out of the courthouse, Carnevale said this was a life-changing experience. "I don't regret it at all. If I could to do it all over again, I would."

The gym, Fitness 1440, has since closed.
