Hunger and homelessness is a reality in South Florida. The homeless on the streets of Miami-Dade and Broward Counties could be veterans, single moms, teens, people with mental illness, or your former neighbor or friend who’s fallen on hard times.
This Easter and Passover Season, WIOD is joining forces with the Miami Rescue Mission and Broward Outreach center to help sponsor 20,000 meals to feed the Homeless and Hungry in South Florida.
On Good Friday, April 2nd, we will be participating in our 3rd Annual Radio Share-A-Thon on WIOD. We will not be having our street outreach, but we still need to feed the homeless and hungry with bag lunches. It costs $2.10 for one meal, $42 for 20 meals, and for every meal donation, they have special sponsors that will match each donation up to 10,000 meals. Your meals will be doubled, so 10,000 meals will become 20,000 meals, our overall goal, and you don’t have to wait till Good Friday. You can start now!
