Florida News That Impact You – April 2nd, 2021

On Thursday, Florida had its highest day for newly reported coronavirus cases since March 2nd. The Florida Department of Health reported 6,790 new COVID-19 cases.

In related news, nearly six million Floridians have now been vaccinated with at least a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine including 3.4 million who’ve now completed the series. Furthermore, today marks the first day that Floridians 18 and older may obtain vaccine appointments for immunizations next week. All Floridians 18 and older will be eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations starting Monday. A total of 817,250 vaccine doses are in route to Florida for use next week.

AccuWeather’s Hurricane forecast is predicting an above average hurricane season once again with a projected 16-20 named storms. According to their forecasting, Florida’s Gulf coast may once again be the most likely to be directly impacted by storms.
