Florida News That Impact You – March 22nd, 2021

The Florida Department of Health reported fewer than 4,000 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday.

Nearly 7.5 million doses of a COVID vaccine have been administered based on Sunday’s vaccine report from the FDOH. That includes over 2.7 million Floridians who’ve now completed the vaccine series.

Effective today, the age for eligibility for a COVID-19 vaccine drops to 50. Governor DeSantis made the announcement Friday after providing an update that about 70% of Florida’s seniors have now been vaccinated and demand for vaccines has been lower with those between the ages of 60-64 compared to those 65+. You may preregister at myvaccine.fl.gov.

Spring Break starts today in the Broward School District. Miami-Dade's is scheduled for next week. Miami-Beach is maintaining an 8pm curfew through April 12th after declaring a state of emergency due to widespread non-compliance with city ordinances.
