Don't Go To Hard Rock Stadium For Vaccine Without Appointment

South Florida seniors 65-and-older are so desperate to get their shot at the shot, just an hour after the gates at Hard Rock Stadium opened, 500 cars with people with no appointments were log-jamming the process.

Spokesperson Mike Jachles stresses the only way to get a vaccine is by making an appointment over the phone. All others will be turned away, and all appointments for today have been filled.

Jachles says another problem is those with appointments are arriving hours early.

He reiterates people should come at their appointment times because they still have to wait in line. "If you have an appointment, and you're there, you will be accommodated, so there is no need for people to come out at 3:00 in the morning and wait."

The goal is to administer 1,000 vaccines a day.

COVID-19 testing is also continuing at Hard Rock Stadium, but no appointments for that are needed.

The site is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Broward County is offering mass vaccinations at five sites, but all appointments are full. They can be made at browardcovidvaccine.com/.

The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County is expected to open a limited number of appointments at miamidade.gov/vaccine at 4:00 p.m.
