Rapid Transit Bus System In Miami-Dade Wins Approval

A plan to improve public transportation in Miami-Dade County is moving forward.

The Transportation Planning Organization yesterday approved plans for a new rapid bus system that includes dedicated lanes along SR 836.

The project still needs the approval of the county commission.

The commission, yesterday, in a separate issue, approved the Better Bus Project, which will provide more frequent service.

According to an article published by NBC6 "In Miami-Dade, 36 percent of transit commuters are essential workers. Some of them experience delays as long as 30 to 60 minutes."
