These are some of the biggest news from around the state that impacts you in South Florida. Wednesday’s midday update from the Florida Division of Elections showed over 3.7 million Floridians that have already voted. Democrats are leading in votes by mail while Republicans have taken the lead in early voting turnout. More than a quarter of Florida’s registered voters have already voted. Turnout in 2016’s Presidential election was 75%.
In other news, FSU coaching legend Bobby Bowden, 91, has made a full recovery from COVID-19. The coach attributed his recovery to his desire to vote, saying, "I’ve had the chance to get a lot of wins in my life, but I really wanted to win this one because I wanted to be around to vote for President Trump".
The Director of National Intelligence has attributed threatening emails reported by numerous Floridians to interference campaigns orchestrated by Iran and Russia.
Lastly, just months after Billionaire Investor Carl Ichan announced the relocation of Ichan Enterprises, an $11 billion company, to Miami from New York City, another major firm is on its way to South Florida. The $41 billion Elliott Management Corp. has announced they’re relocating to West Palm Beach from New York City. Paul Singer, the principal behind the firm, is also becoming a full-time resident of Florida.
