2-Year Senator Gayle Harrell Faces Challenge From Democrat Army Veteran

Republican Gayle Harrell has served two years in the Florida Senate after winning a special election to fill the final two years of former Senate President Joe Negron's term in District 25.

Whomever wins this race will also only serve a two year term because of reapportionment coming in 2022.

Restarting the economy is one of Harrell's top campaign platforms.

"The number 1 crisis we're facing at this point is what has happened to our economy as a result of COVID and it is directly as a result of COVID."

She chairs the Health Policy Committee and believes that as a vaccine becomes available, the economy will continue to improve even faster.

Harrell's Democrat challenger Corinna Balderamos (bald-er-aym-ohs) Robinson is a U.S. Army veteran who worked as a legislative Congressional Fellow.

She moved to District 25 in June, but says that shouldn't be a concern.

"Yes, I'm new to the district. I've owned property in Florida for quite some time. It doesn't matter so much how long you've lived somewhere or how long you've been in office. It matters what you're capable of doing for eyeryone in the district."
