SNL Debut Draws Biggest Audience in Years

Maybe it was host Chris Rock. Maybe it was musical performer Meghan Thee Stallion. Or maybe it was Jim Carrey's turn as former Vice President Joe Biden, but Saturday Night Live drew big ratings this weekend.

The show opened with Alec Baldwin returning in the role of President Trump debating Carrey's Biden. Maya Rudolph also returned as Kamala Harris, appearing to break up the squabbling children.

SNL averaged a 1.68 rating in adults 18-49 and 7.765 million viewers overall, making it the most-watched season premiere since 2016 (with host Margot Robbie and musical guest The Weekend).

Comedian Bill Burr will host this Saturday's episode with country music star Wallen performing.

Saturday Night Live is now in its 46th season.
