The Palm Beach County Commission has announced it's time for the second round of funding availability in CARES Act funds.
The CARES Mortgage Assistance Program was approved on May 15th to speed up assistance to eligible homeowners who have suffered a loss of income due to the pandemic.
The $20 million allocation for the Mortgage Assistance Program comes from the $261 million allocated for the county from the federal CARES Act.
Funds are awarded as a grant to cover up to six months of assistance for income-eligible households that are at least one month delinquent in home mortgage, escrow payments or HOA fees and homeowners must show that the costs are directly tied to COVID-19.
The application goes online this Friday.
