Palm Beach County courthouses are slated to seat juries once again, as soon as next week.
The Florida Supreme Court put jury trials on hold due to the pandemic, while essential court hearings have still been taking place, mostly on Zoom. But no trials means many cases have slowed down, and the case log has backed up.
Palm Beach County Chief Judge Krista Marx has said that sometime after October 9th, she plans to begin summoning jurors for "approximately four" carefully selected cases, with a "larger resumption of jury trials" later, possibly into the new year.
