Popularity Of These Flights Surges

Frustrated travelers eager to go SOMEWHERE are snatching up tickets to nowhere.

Qantas Airways says a seven-hour scenic flight over Australia's outback and Great Barrier Reef sold out in just 10-minutes.

The flight on a large 787 will fly at lower altitudes over Uluru, the Great Barrier Reef, and Sydney Harbour, before returning to Sydney.

The flights to nowhere start at 575-dollars and could cost close to three-grand.

A Qantas spokesperson says the flight may be the fastest-selling in the company's history.

Similar flights by Asian airlines have also been very popular.

But not everyone is getting on board. Environmental activists say the flights have huge carbon footprints and are a waste of fuel and resources.
