School District Says Campuses Will Reopen 5 School Days After Phase 2

The Palm Beach County School District announced on Twitter Thursday evening that campuses will return to in-person learning approximately five school days after Palm Beach County officially enters Phase 2. However, the school district says it's still waiting for confirmation of a specific date.

The announcement came hours after the governor said Palm Beach County will be moving into Phase 2.

Earlier in the day, County Mayor Dave Kerner asked the governor, during a meeting with him, if the state would allow local schools to hold off on reopening campuses until September 21. The governor has not made a decision yet on Kerner's request, so an official start date is still uncertain.

Once physical classrooms reopen, parents will still have the option of keeping their kids at home for distance-learning.

Families can make their selections through the "Make Your Choice" tab in the District's Online Portal.
