The Town of Palm Beach is closing public beaches for Labor Day weekend as a way to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Town officials say they will close public beaches and beach access beginning on Friday.
According to an announcement on the town's website, the decision to close the beaches was made "to avoid 'super spreader' events" during a time that traditionally attracts large crowds of beachgoers.
The beaches will reopen on Tuesday, September 8th.
The closures include Phipps Ocean Park.
