Several Lawmakers Urge Governor To Reverse Actions Regarding Schools

Several members of Congress, along with state senators and representatives sent a letter to Governor DeSantis on Friday, urging he reverse what they call his administration's actions requiring Palm Beach County schools to offer a brick-and-mortar option to students once the county enters Phase 2.

Congresswoman Lois Frankel, State Senator Lori Berman and several other Democrat lawmakers write that a threat to withhold funding has resulted in the County Commission making the decision on when schools reopen, rather than the School Board, which changed its inital plan to allow kids back on a staggered approach.

The new school year begins on Monday with distance-learning only.
