PBC Mayor Kerner: "Tent City" Has Been Moved Out Of John Prince Park

The so-called "tent city" that had been up in John Prince Park since last year is no more.

Palm Beach County Mayor Dave Kerner announced on Friday that the homeless community once residing in the park have been moved elsewhere.

"It's a very positive and exciting day in Palm Beach County to finally have transitioned nearly 180 homeless residents out of the park system into our shelter system which provides food, bedding, security, washing machines, internet, wraparound services..."

The county invested nearly $9 million in a homeless shelter at a former stockade near the South Florida Fairgrounds.

Most of the homeless went there, while others sent to hotels.
