Fernandez-Rundle Re-Elected State Attorney

A longtime prosecutor credits her record for another election win.

Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle won yesterday's Democratic primary over Melba Pearson with 61 percent of the vote.

Fernandez Rundle has been in office 27 years, and Pearson ran on a platform of criminal justice reform.

The 70-year-old Rundle told supporters she ran and won on the strength of her record, but she also promised to explore meaningful, bold reforms in social and criminal justice.
