Family Left Homeless By Isaias

While most people avoided major damage from Tropical Storm Isaias, a Broward County family wasn't so lucky.

North Lauderdale's Arlene Desinor and her family are now homeless after the storm opened a hole in their roof Saturday.

“Pieces of the ceiling hitting the furniture, and the whole house is flooded,” said Arlene. “It started off in the living room, entering into the kitchen, going into the bedroom.”

No one was hurt, but the water damage forced the family to stay in a hotel.

On top of that, she tells 7News her father, who lives with her, has kidney disease, and their landlord is not helping.

“There’s a pandemic, and now we have nowhere to stay, and we’re trying to find somewhere to live,” she said.
