Miami Dade Sup't Carvalho: School Opening Delayed

Miami-Dade's top teacher this afternoon announcing classes will begin remotely on August 31st, not the 24th as initially planned. But the week of the 24th will be an orientation week. Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho says the goal is to still get students back in classrooms, but only if conditions improve. He also announced the hybrid model of learning - blending in-person and remote learning - has been abandoned.

No official word yet from Broward County Public Schools.
