Fauci Flings Failed First Pitch

Doctor Anthony Fauci's first pitch is practicing social distancing. The health expert and avid Nationals fan took the mound before MLB's opener and fired the ball way outside to the backstop. It may have missed the strike zone by a wide margin but it was a light-hearted moment in the lead up to baseball's anticipated return.

The 79-year-old Doc may not have been a good luck charm for his hometown team. The Nationals lost to the New York Yankees in a rain-shortened game that ended in the sixth inning in Washington.

President Trump is getting ready to take the mound next month. Speaking at the White House, Trump announced he's going to throw out the first pitch at a New York Yankees game on August.
