The news anchor on CBS This Morning insists he wasn't sleeping in the middle of Tuesday's broadcast.
When the show returned from a commercial break just after 8-a.m., the broadcast showed Tony Dokoupil in his chair with his head down. You can hear a producer say "Tony!" off mic. After a few seconds, the show goes into another commercial break.
After the on-air hiccup, the rest of the show continued as usual.
Dokoupil didn't realize he was the subject of online speculation until he saw his name trending on Twitter.
He then set the record straight (with his version of events).
