Ron DeSantis Is The Most Popular Big State Governor In America

The first year on the job has objectively been a good one for Ron DeSantis. Florida’s unemployment rate is a record low. Wages are at record highs and so are current job opportunities across the state. Additionally, he’s made significant progress on environmental policies and is in the midst of overhauling Florida’s curriculum. This has all been noticed by Floridians.

Polls universally show Governor DeSantis in a positive light but the Morning Consult Political Intelligence surveying goes the furthest tracking over 5,000 voters quarterly to gauge average overtime. What we see is Governor DeSantis now has the 7th highest net approval rating in the country, at +36% and is the top-ranked large state governor passing Texas’s Greg Abbott. Interestingly, the top ten approved of governors are all Republicans. The news is also positive for our senators, Rubio has a +15% approval rating and Scott has +11%.

As Floridians, we’re about as evenly politically divided as any state but that's not the case when it comes to our governor and senators. We’re happy with the job they’ve been doing. Our senator's support for President Trump against impeachment was notable. You might imagine that’s a factor in their approval ratings and could be a warning for congressional Democrats come November in our state. Every House Democrat voted to impeach President Trump.
