Last Call Could Be Coming Earlier In South Beach During Spring Break

Closing time could be coming at 2 a.m instead of 5 a.m. in South Beach this spring break. Miami Beach Commissioners taking a final vote today on limiting alcohol sales in the city's entertainment district for 17 days beginning next Friday. Mayor Dan Gelber says it will help with crowd control and safety issues.Critics say this is damaging to the tourism industry and really won't solve any problems since spring breakers start drinking during the day. Commissioners have already passed an ordinance requiring Ocean Drive restaurants and bars serving alcohol after midnight to hire off-duty cops on weekends and holidays.
