Democratic Congressman Eric Swalwell denies it was him, but it sure sounded like he farted during a live interview with MSNBC's Chris Matthews.
Twitter commenters were quick to pounce and share the video of Swalwell's appearance.
The former presidential cogressman sent a message to Buzzfeed saying "It was not me!!!!!" with five exclamation points and said he didn't even hear it while he was on the air.
In a tweet, Hardball said it wasn't a fart, but rather the sound of someone dragging a Hardball mug across the desk. They even used the incident as a chance to try and sell more mugs.
