A British businessman thinks he has the recipe to sole the plastic straw crisis.
Rather than plastic, Stroodles straws are made with pasta.
These pastas are flavorless and the company says the straws will last an hour in a beverage before getting soggy.
Because the straws are made of wheat and water, they are biodegradable and environmentally friendly.
Company founder Maxim Glemann says many customers end up snacking on the straws, particularly after a couple of gin & tonics.
According to LAD Bible: Despite their tip-top environmental credentials, Maxim is quick to point out that he doesn't want to lecture about the problem of plastic pollution and scare people.
"I'm not there to preach and tell people the world is going to die if they keep using plastic," he said.
"Stroodles are fun to begin with and I think they encourage people to make realisations and think more about their choices."
