Nike won't sell a shoe featuring the original design of the American flag after complaints from former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
According to the Wall St. Journal, Kaepernick asked that the shoe design be pulled because the flag designed by Betsy Ross has been appropriated by some white nationalist organizations.
Nike released a statement that read, in part, "Nike has chosen not to release the Air Max 1 Quick Strike Fourth of July as it featured an old version of the American flag,"
The shoe was scheduled to hit store shelves on Monday with a $140 price tag.
