Florida's Recap May 31st

Here's a recap of some of the biggest news from around the state that impact you in South Florida.

Governor DeSantis wrapped up his Israeli trade trip with a meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Also in Israel with the governor is Florida Division of Emergency Management Director Jared Moskowitz, whose office is assisting with the response to the record-breaking flooding in Oklahoma. Oklahoma assisted with Irma recovery two years ago.

Tax-Free week for hurricane season supplies is underway through next Thursday, June 6th. In other news, for the third straight year, Florida had the highest rate of boat thefts according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Tampa were the top three cities for theft in the country.

Lastly, according to a Sun Sentinel’s survey, South Florida’s top burger place is Jack’s Old-Fashioned Hamburger house.
