New Survey Ranks the States and Florida Doesn't Crack Top 10

The best state in the USA is Washington State.

U.S. News and World Report compiled the list and praised the Evergreen State for its strong economy, with companies like Amazon and Microsoft, and its move to become coal-free by 2025.

New Hampshire, Minnesota, Utah, and Vermont round out the top five.

Florida ranks 13th in the survey, with below-average marks health care and opportunity.

The survey did rank Florida's public higher education system the best in the country for the third year in a row.

Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana are at the bottom of the annual list.
