Illinois Woman Finds Clean Snake In Washing Machine

Certain creatures just seem dirty no matter how clean they really are. A woman living in Evanston, Illinois was preparing to unload her washing machine when she found a snake slithering among the wet clothing. She called for help on Wednesday (May 8th) after discovering the creature. Local officers safely captured the very clean snake and took it to the Chicago Exotics Animal Hospital. One responding officer added, "I could smell it and could tell that it had actually been through a cycle. Smelled like Downy." The animal turned out to be a pet named Penelope that escaped from her owner, who lives in Kamencic. The snake was returned to its owner.
