Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony went before Tamarac commissioners Wednesday morning to talk about last week's violent take-down of a teenage boy, but ended up in a shouting match with Commissioner Marlon Bolton.
Tony raised his voice when he said he wanted to keep politics out of the internal review, but the commissioner called that "the same aggression officers used" when they arrested the teen.
Sheriff Tony says he suspended two deputies seen on video pepper-spraying and punching the teen while making an arrest.
The State Attorney's Office announced it is dropping criminal charges against the teen but may pursue action against the deputies.
Tamarac commissioners said they don't want any deputy involved in the incident working in the city until the internal investigation is complete.
