Broward Teachers Union & School District Strike Pay Raise Deal

After months of negotiations, the Broward School Board strikes a deal with its teachers union over a pay hike. Superintendent Robert Runcie says most teachers will get an across-the-board 2.16-percent base salary increase, highly effective teachers will get a 2.17-percent salary hike. The District will also cover the entire tab for employee-only health insurance. Both sides will be back at the negotiating table for next school year as soon as lawmakers hash out a budget in Tallahassee.
